Music

Daily music, singing and the opportunity to perform.

Guitar and percussion instruments arranged on a rug

Music is a special part of life at our nursery. We believe that music plays an important role in children's learning, helping to develop language, listening skills, confidence and creativity.

We are fortunate to have a talented nursery teacher who plays the guitar and sings, bringing music to life through live performances and interactive musical experiences. Songs, nursery rhymes, poems and chants are woven into our daily routines, making music a natural and enjoyable part of every child's day.

Children have regular opportunities to explore and play a variety of percussion instruments, learning to keep a steady beat, copy and create simple rhythms, and explore different sounds. Through singing, clapping, movement and rhythmic chants, children develop their musical awareness, coordination, memory and listening skills.

Singing and rhymes are also an important part of developing children's language. Through repetition, rhythm and rhyme, children learn new vocabulary, develop an awareness of sounds in words and build important foundations for early reading.

We encourage children to grow in confidence by singing together, performing songs and sharing their musical achievements with others. These experiences help children develop self-expression, teamwork and the confidence to perform in front of an audience.

Above all, we want every child to experience the joy of music, developing a love of singing, playing instruments and making music that will stay with them as they grow.

We would love to show you around and answer any questions.
