We understand that starting nursery is a big step for both children and their families. We want every child to feel happy, safe and confident as they begin their exciting journey with us. Our carefully planned settling-in process helps children become familiar with their new surroundings, build positive relationships with staff and develop the confidence to enjoy nursery life.
Joining Our Nursery
If you would like your child to join our nursery, please contact the school office to request a nursery registration form. Once we have received your completed form, a member of our team will be in touch to discuss the availability of places and the next steps.
Getting to Know Your Child
Before your child starts nursery, we arrange a home visit so that we can meet your child in the comfort and familiarity of their own home. This gives us a wonderful opportunity to get to know your child and your family, learn about their interests and individual needs and answer any questions you may have.
We also invite you and your child to a nursery visit, where you can meet our friendly staff, explore the learning environment and become familiar with the exciting activities and experiences on offer.
Settling In
We recognise that every child is different and that some children may need a little more time and reassurance as they settle into nursery.
To help make this transition as smooth and positive as possible, we offer a gradual, staggered start. Children begin with a short, one-hour session before gradually building up to their full nursery sessions.
This gentle approach gives children time to develop confidence, form trusting relationships with staff and become comfortable with their new routines and surroundings.
Our priority is for every child to feel happy, secure and excited to come to nursery each day.
